BUGS-AT-WORK! - Activities & Resources for Educators

Many educators are nervous (or even a little bugged!) about inviting invertebrates into their classrooms. At BUGMAN Educational Entoprises we use respect, founded in knowledge, to help you overcome these fears. If you have no fear, we can also stimulate your curiosity and answer many of your questions. We will show you how to work with Arthropods with a confidence that is inspiring.

Interactive and fun, this workshop presents information, resources, games and activities for using Arthropods in your curriculum - inside the classroom and out in the school yard - to deliver valuable educational experiences. The two-hour program includes games, crafts and discussions focusing on your concerns and experiences using bugs in your classroom at any grade level!

Each participating educator receives a workshop packet with lots of information and ideas not covered in the workshop program. Some important concepts covered in the packet include

  • coloration for defense
  • communication & behavior
  • metamorphosis
  • basic bug anatomy
