This Tanzanian Amblypygid (Damon diadema) is one of the coolest
Arachnids in the history of forever! Careful examination of this picture will
reveal six walking legs. The long, skinny appendages that cross over the
animal's back are its other legs- they are used like antennas! Arachnids don't
have antennas. This thing walks around and waves its two long sensory legs to
feel, taste and smell the world around it. The thick, folded claws in the front
(top of picture) are its pedipalps - mouthparts that extend to catch and
