Here are two examples of "ugly" butterflies. okay,
they're not ugly - but neither are most moths. We rarely look at moths closely
enough to see the intricacies of the patterns in their wings, but they are
incredible close up. This is a White Cabbage Butterfly (Pieris rapae)
on the left and an Eastern Comma Butterfly (Polygonia comma) on the
right. Notice the knobbed antennae.
